Beargarden was launched in summer 2023 by Emilio Rodriguez and quickly became a must-visit destination for Greater Los Angeles' bear community. Known for its enticing beer specials, outdoor seating, and inclusive vibe, Beargarden has evolved into a vibrant celebration of queer culture. In June 2023, Beargarden co-hosted the Pasadena Pride Tea Dance with Boulevard Pasadena, raising funds for The Trevor Project and earning recognition from Bear World Magazine, Do LA, Visit Pasadena, and Pasadena Weekly. Expanding into Los Angeles proper, Beargarden continues to provide body-positive, fun spaces for the queer market, supporting local businesses and promoting vital resources like HIV prevention through partnerships with organizations such as Grow Proud. Beargarden also works closely with the United Democratic Headquarters of Pasadena, integrating voter registration efforts and grassroots political engagement into its events, blending celebration with purpose.
